Why Jesus Wants To Save You From Your “Stuff”

The default mode of the human heart and the most wide-spread mode of most humans is discontentment. Every time I meet someone who makes over a million a year, they are envious of their peer who makes ten million.  Those who take the metro are envious of those who drive their Mitsubishi and still those are eyeing their co-workers Maserati. Those who live in a small home, want a mansion. Those who live in a mansion can’t understand why their neighbor has five mansions. It does not matter if you make a lot of money or barely make money

whether you drive a nice car or a car that barely drives

have your own driver or can’t find a ride

Until your ultimate satisfaction is found in Jesus and Jesus alone – you will be filled with a spirit of disappointment and unhappiness.

Nothing can fill your heart with pleasure and peace like Jesus can and only He can do that.

The moment we stop pursuing happiness from broken wells that leave us thirsty and wanting, is the moment we will realize that only Jesus can satisfy us perpetually – regardless of our circumstance.

The problem is not with a lack of stuff but rather the lack of being satisfied in our Savior – who saves us from ALL of our “stuff.”

Jesus says this: “whoever drinks of the water that I will give him will never be thirsty again. The water that I will give him will become in him a spring of water welling up to eternal life.” (John 4:14)

What is the source of your refreshment today?

    Amen!

  2. Of course it’s always helpful to remember that we can’t take our stuff with us after we die either. We can however live for the glory of Jesus and that will remain with us for eternity!
